Cubbing and Stuff

Kaylee is applying to be a senior camp counselor at PHOC for this summer.  They are needing people, and they are under new management.  She doesn't know the people now, but she still wants to give it a go.  She has a phone interview with them the 15th.

Man it was pretty out today.  It was a little misty, but clear skies, light winds, and it got up to like 53 degrees.  Beautiful. I'm a little disgruntled because I couldn't fly the T-6 and go up and do a last little upside down action for the winter, one day away.  But Tim and I went up in the Legend Cub, went over to Marion and did TOLS, crosswinds, etc.  He's doing great, so I told him I'd sign him off to take it solo if he wanted.  We were supposed to meet up tomorrow morning to fly one more time and do emergencies and have me sign his logbook for the Flight Review, but he just texted me that his son's school was closed because "someone" in there tested positive for Covid, they haven't told the parents who was close to or in contact with the positive person, so he's having his son tested and staying home for a bit to be sure.

After lunch I made the rounds.  Out to Glenndale to pick up my new shoes.  My old ones are falling apart, and you can see the place on the ball of my foot where I usually hit taildragger rudders and it's worn almost through.  I think that's funny.  Out to Kokomo to pick up a gift of wine that a friend sent me from California.  He sent three bottles, and they're expensive.  I know one of them was a $75 bottle of wine, with the "label" actually etched into the glass, not a paper label.  Wow.  He told me to save that one for an excellent steak dinner.   I shall, if I can.  I'm looking forward to it.  Post office, where I could pick up some Christmas cards and bills, and return to them the second letter that has been delivered to our house and it's the wrong address.  We're on Woodland, and the envelope says Markland, and twice now we've gotten this person's mail incorrectly.  Next time I'm not going to walk it in and tell the post office, I'm just going to drop it in the mail, and it'll get returned to sender, who will wonder what's up.  I was out of gas, so topped off on that.  A bit later I went back out to Kokomo, and when I rolled my window down to punch in the gate code, my window wouldn't go back up.   So I drove it over to the repair shop, and waited outside since they closed at 5, until Steve came and got me, and we drove down to Breeze Inn for dinner with a dozen pilots.  Good food, good company, good conversation.  Home late.  Tomorrow looks like it'll be almost 60 degrees.  Sweeeet.  :)

Just a wing view

Misty but clear above. This mist burned off before we landed.

And Away

How pretty

Isn't that lovely presentation?

Sunset on the way to dinner.  Wish I could have seen that from the air.
