Saturday Steve was working out at the airport all day. I met them for lunch, but my flights all canceled because of the winds/weather. So I got the other stuff done instead. Panera run, post office, laundry, walking, spanish lesson, stuff.
I also returned a phone call to the 99s chapter down in Greenwood. They've been around for 80 years, the chapter was dying out, only a few older ladies left, and some young blood came in and is trying to keep it running. So the head of it asked me if I'd come down and talk to them at their next meeting in October. Then she asked if I needed anything for a presentation. I'm like...presentation? Of What? Yikes! I asked what they wanted me to talk about, and she didn't really know, so I have to come up with something by next month. Yikes. Public speaking, SUCH my thing. I'm not even a member of the 99s. I feel weird. But they want me to do it, and think it'll help them out, will give them something to have at their meeting, so I'll fly down in something and give it a shot.
Today I returned a phone call to a very wealthy unnamed man who has a client. They bought Walt's T-6, all hush hush. A guy named Dennis bought the plane for another guy named Paul (I think), and Dennis wants me to check him out in the plane first, and then Paul, or maybe he'll check out Paul, we're not quite sure. Paul has over 50 cars and homes all over the country (world?) and I don't know how many airplanes. Dennis is a former fighter pilot, awarded medals, race car driver, spent about 40 minutes telling me everything he's done and flown, which is, everything. He flew a T-6 in the 80s for 5 hours, checked himself out in it. Flew a P-51 the same way, and a bunch of rare things. He has bought a P-51 for Paul and Paul needs to fly the T-6 first. So this is all very secretive, I don't know last names or who these people are, but they're obviously important. So I meet with him/them on Tuesday. I'm actually quite booked up here. Tuesday I'm going to Hungtington to start Job's tailwheel endorsement in their Cub, then down to Terre Haute to meet these mystery folks. Same on Wednesday. I was supposed to spend all day with Job Tues & Wed but these other folks want to get started asap. So I'll have to divide and conquer. Anyway, that's my upcoming week. Wish me luck, good weather, clear communication, and a good checkout for all these folks.
Kaylee stopped by for about 30 minutes on her way to youth group. She's super busy, and she's having a great time. Having trouble keeping up with homework already, but otherwise having a great time.
I'm watching the "Lethal Weapon" series today while doing other things. I'm on III right now. Great memories, I haven't seen these in years. :)
