What a day!
We had the cleaning people here for the first time since this COVID thing happened. We pre-picked up, and made sure there was nothing too terrible for them to deal with. I had flights from 8-10, 10-12, 12-2, a dental appointment at 2:30, and then Ann had an appointment at 3:45. So I left the house at 7:30 before they got there. I'm up flying, and I have an issue with my oil pressure, and Steve and I are texting back and forth about that. Then he texts me that we have no water and asked if I paid the bill. I did. His mom didn't have water either, am I SURE I paid the bill. I looked it up, and yes, I'd paid the bill. But I'd gotten the amount wrong, and we still owed $12, and maybe they shut us off for that. I'm instructing and having part of this text conversation. I said I didn't think so, not without any warning or anything, no threatening letters, not for $12 when they got a payment last month. Long story short--they had a water line break. So we were two houses without water until mid-afternoon.
Meanwhile, the cleaning people are here and we don't have any water in these two houses. So Kaylee runs to get water, but goes all the way to Meijer instead of nearby CVS to get it, so folks are waiting while she takes awhile to go get water and get back.
What a mess!
I did my thing from 8-10, 10-12, and 12-2, and then ran for home to brush my teeth with a bottle of water for the water, and ran to the dentist office. Where you wait in your car, call in, they tell you you must wear a mask, and you come in wearing the mask. Then you take the mask off so they can work IN YOUR MOUTH. There's nobody else in there, so I'm not sure who all that mask is supposed to be protecting for the 10 seconds you walk from the front door to your reclining seat. But they made you put it on to come in, and made you put it back on to walk out the door. Alone. Nobody in the waiting room. Okee dokee, man.
I was starving, not having had time for lunch, so I stopped at McDonalds on my way home, and made it with 10 minutes to spare to pick up Ann and take her to the doctor. Again, they had us call in and wait in our car, and wear masks inside, but at least this time there were other people around inside that you could be protecting. :) After we got checked in, they had me go back to my car and wait while she did the testing, and then they walked her back out to the car. They were very relaxed and patient and professional and I appreciated them.
When she was done, I took her home, and then headed right back out. I went to Staples and had BOB's checklist copied and laminated. Nathan has a short one, and we have a big complete one, but I needed one in between for training purposes, so I made up one that I think is pretty close. Jordan and JP will be coming back on Wednesday, and my checkride will be the 19th or 20th, and I needed it by then for sure.
I stopped by Panera to pick up some soup and salad for Ann and us, then went out to Kokomo. I have a trip to Macon, Georgia leaving at 6:30 am, and I just realized that it was longer than I thought and I needed fuel in the wing locker tank too, and wasn't sure if I had it. So I went out and checked my tanks (all full including that one). Whew. I think I'll be ready for tomorrow now.
Steve finished up our taxes today. Kaylee...I have no idea what Kaylee did.
I'm sure I'm forgetting something, but I have to go to bed soon and get up at 5 am. Urgh...
