Zoom Zoom
I dig this picture. I think it turned out kind of neat. Wide angle lenses are cool. The color and clarity and detail you can get off of a cellphone these days is just amazing. I love that.
My Saturday did not go as planned. Weather rolled in for the morning, low clouds, drizzle. It canceled my morning flight, then lifted in time for a guy to go at 3-5, and I had a 3-5, 5-7, and 7-9 pm. Well, I didn't feel good. At all. My head hurt, my stomach hurt, I felt queasy most of the day. I didn't have a fever or a cough. But I just felt sick. So I canceled the 3-5 and 5-7. The 7-9 then canceled me before I canceled her, because SHE didn't feel good. Which was a good thing, because her husband came up anyway, and the Champ had a bad mag check on it and they didn't get to fly anyway. So it all worked out pretty well, except for one poor guy, the 5-7, who didn't get my message 2.5 hours early and drove up here anyway. I didn't know it or we would have had Steve fly with him instead. But the others, it worked out.
Sunday I woke up feeling just fine. I don't know if the wet dreary heavy weather yesterday got to my sinuses or what that had to do with me being queasy too, but I felt MUCH better today. Kaylee went to her first in-person church service, as they opened for the first time today. She walked in the door and the youth leader said "You're going to be a chicken". So she was handed a large chicken costume, which she put on, and came out when she was supposed to. But she couldn't hear the leader through the costume and from where she was, so she relied on her friend to tell her what to do. At the end, her friend said "Rock out a little bit now", so Kaylee was doing dance moves in the chicken costume. Her friend DIED laughing, called her off stage, and said "I made that last part up, you were just supposed to leave the stage, she didn't say anything about rocking out. I just had you do it for the fun of it." Kaylee said that the whole church experience including her chicken adventures just made her day. She laughs every time she thinks about it. Tonight she is helping that friend do cap and gown professional photos, and then going to a bonfire with her youth group. She said last night they had one, and they had some excellent conversations and discussions that were interesting without being too heavy. She said her "Steve" came out, and she enjoyed going back and forth. One girl said afterwards she was afraid they were arguing, and Kaylee was like "I hope they didn't think I was arguing, I was just really enjoying having the discussion!" So I hope that doesn't stifle it tonight. That is her inner "Steve". Debating, discussing, enjoying the back and forth, but without malice, just interest in the conversation. :) She's also considering applying for a job at Sonic because they do roller skating car hops, and she thinks that would be fun. lol She seems to be in a more positive mood today, so hopefully that continues. I enjoy her company, and when she's on a roll, she's a lot of fun. ;)
I have laundered about everything in this house, done all the house work stuff I needed to do, and Steve has been outside working in the yard, doing HIS Sunday stuff. The other thing we did today was go out to the airport, where we pulled out the 340, the Cheyenne, and the T-6, and waited for Eric to arrive, where we ran up the T-6 and he adjusted the idle mixture so it would be a bit more lean, as it was barking a little. I ran it up some more, it seemed to be running well, we shut down. Steve talked to guys while I put away the T-6, then the Cheyenne, then the 340, by myself, shut down the hangar, etc. We went to a little corner greasy spoon place we'd never been to before but go by every day, and we ate lunch there today. Low prices, old building, hard working older tired staff, good food. I brought Kaylee back a grilled chicken sandwich and she said it was big, and good. It's funny, you get in a routine and you go where you normally go, and some places we've lived here this whole time and just never gone to. So I wanted to give them a try today, and am not sorry.
Steve's outside in the back yard with somebody, Kaylee is off to her outdoor photo shoot with a friend, the cats are basking in the sunshine in the garden area, I have the widows open to the house and letting it cool down naturally in here, the dryer is about done with my last load of clothes, and for today, all is well.
