I definitely turned the corner today. I woke up fever free, and after a shaky morning got better by the afternoon. I was able to keep down oatmeal, scrambled eggs, and a bowl of cereal, which felt like a ton of food. By the end of the day I even did a little walking to try to get rid of the weakness and stop being light headed. As of right now, late tonight, I'm feeling pretty good again. Whew.
As far as our string of things happening, lots of positive news, another shift of fortune in less than 24 hours. Ann seems to be feeling better today too. Steve got the taxes done and in on time. Justin found internet archives of most of our websites, and I think that means we can download them or save them off. Even the angels sites, which I thought were gone gone. There's a new scheduling system that I am slowly figuring out. I'm not the best at learning new computer things, and I don't like it, but I have been very careful not to say so because Steve does not need that right now. lol But I think I'm getting the gist of it. Sort of. We even had a new person put down money today to start taking lessons. And such is the turn of life. One evening everything is piling on and looking bad, and by the next evening, the light at the end of the tunnel isn't even a train. But you do have to watch out for the evening after that. ;) I seem to have gotten a little boost in my weight loss efforts, though I don't recommend it. Still assuming a little of that will come back, but today I wore a Large shirt instead of an XL, and it wasn't too tight. My face is a little less round in shape too. It's just under 15 pounds difference, but it's right about where it really starts making a difference. I feel better.
Meanwhile, today President Trump declared a National Emergency, as you know. You can't turn on the TV or the internet without being inundated with everything coronavirus. What I found craziest was the emails I got. I got an email from our cleaning service, from my food delivery service (I understand those two), from Barnes & Noble (what??), even from my "Laff-a-day" email service (They don't even come in contact with people!!). From local churches, from local schools, from the ticket agency that sold me the tickets to Mary Poppins which has been delayed. From EAA telling me that Sun-n-Fun has been postponed by a month (that's gonna be a problem still). From my *credit report* people (what?). From Capital One. My email has been swamped with companies sending me stuff about how they're handling Covid-19. Oh, the most informative one was from Duke Energy, where they said that they're going to suspend disconnections of service for people who can't afford to pay due to financial hardship from the virus, job loss, etc. Anyway, the world is sending me Coronavirus emails right now. Then I thought...we should send one out to the club. Oh yeah, we can't. Oh well, they'll just have to figure out for themselves that we're going on as business as usual and please use common sense if you don't feel well or think you've been exposed. We ARE canceling our EAA meeting Thursday. Not because we're worried about 25-50 people meeting up at Glenndale and getting infected, really, but because the majority of those people are 70-80 years old, the most high risk age group for severe issues, and all crammed into one very small, standing room only sometimes seating space, where if someone IS sick, with the flu or anything else, it will be very hard to miss it, and with fatality rates of people over 80 up over 20%, well, we'll just reschedule for next month, for them, just in case. How's THAT for a giant run-on sentence? ;) But you got the idea.
I placed an order for Walmart today. We'll see if I get what I ordered or if they run out of everything. I didn't try to stockpile anything either, I just tried to get normal supplies for two households. They didn't have any availability to pick up tomorrow, so I had to wait for Sunday. I'll let you know how it goes.
Nothing new from Kaylee today. Not sure when she's coming home or how that will work. We as a school board are also trying to figure out how to do this school thing with a small Christian school. Some parents are saying they'll keep their kids home no matter what, others are saying if we close down for a few weeks they'll pull their kids all the way out of the school and want their money refunded. The teachers can't go a month without getting paid, and they can't really get paid if they aren't working. Nothing easy on this one.
Steve is finally going to get some sleep tonight. So nobody call and wake him up early tomorrow.
