Better Days

Yesterday hit all three of us pretty much on the blah side.  All of us sat on the couch and pouted most of the day.  We still got some basic stuff done, but we were not feelin' it.

Today was another day.  Steve got a bunch of work done, I got several projects done myself, all of us had a better attitude.  I also went out to the hangar today for several purposes.  Nathan's trailer was out there but wasn't getting power, so he helped me via text figure out how to make sure it was getting power and fix it.  Then I put away a bunch of logbooks that Steve had brought home in order to enter data into our new maintenance tracker system.  This is a rather important job, as those logbooks are worth their weight in gold.  Next I gathered up all the logbooks for the RG and took them out and put them in the airplane, because tomorrow it goes on a CFI checkride.  (Wish our guy luck).  I went into the maintenance hangar and cleaned up a few things, and gathered together some old avionics that we're going to put up for sale on Ebay if I can figure that out.

The last thing I did out there was wipe down the gate code buttons, the door handle, the light switches, the refrigerator door handle, the bathroom knob inside and out, and set up three comfy chairs at least six feet apart.  Kaylee invited Meredith and Caitlyn to come out to the hangar, where they stayed at least six feet apart at all times, and just talked and goofed around in person.  I left the container of wipes, towels, soap and hand sanitizer there, and if anyone touched anything they were to wipe it down afterwards.  They went out there for several hours, turned on music in the hangar, and just had a good time.  It was good for all of them and their mental health, so they're going to do it again sometime.  Each person bring in their own food and just have a meal together, separately.  No contact, appropriate distance, but THERE.  I'm glad we have a large space where they can do that, have somewhere to go with minimal risk.   I still think our biggest likelihood of catching something is via the store and the stuff in it, or food containers, plastic bags, fast food/restaurant workers, etc., a risk that's a lot more difficult to mitigate than avoiding just hanging around other people.  But we do what we can.

I ordered in pizza for tonight.  Thin crust, SO many fewer calories. The sacrifices we make when trying to whittle our waists.  ;)   Last night I made spinach and cheese tortellini with pesto sauce.  This morning we made bacon and eggs.   Steve cleaned the kitchen sink, I cleaned Kaylee's toilet and washed the blankets the cats were on while we bombed the deck.  And I brought home some extra Wendy's chili, my favorite for taste and lowest calorie out of all of the fast food chilis both. We still have a lot of food at home, but if this shut down stuff and virus spread gets worse, I like having it in reserve.  I feel really good about my current paper towel and TP situation for a good while though.  ;)

We had 47 mph winds today in Kokomo, and grey, dreary skies.  Unless it drastically improves in the next couple days, March is NOT going out like a lamb.

Pulling into the airport.  Lighter grey skies, windsock stuck out.

A farther away view.  Just interesting skies today.
