Two people were found shot and deceased in a car in the parking lot of the Casey's gas station in Greentown. That's the gas station that Kaylee uses exclusively when she's in this area, right across from Hydration Station, that I always used when I was in that area. They haven't released names, and it's weird that they were found sitting in their car. I don't know what happened yet, but it's always a little disturbing when something like that happens at a place you regularly go to! A guess would be murder-suicide, since they were just found both sitting in a car, and nobody saw anything happen, they just called the police when someone later saw them in a car not seeming to move and called for a "welfare check" on them by the police. But what a weird place to do that. I don't know, but yikes.
Weather kept us grounded this morning, and ended up JUST good enough to let us stay in the pattern this evening. My guy is close to solo, finally, if he stays out of his own way in his head. :) Steve's guy is ready for a checkride. All going well on the flight instructing front.
Steve and I went to "Fox's Trail" tonight for dinner after we left the airport, and came home in time for there to be nothing on TV, so I guess we'll have to do some paperwork instead.
Kaylee called me today and was psyched about her forensic science class, where they learned all about fingerprints today. She learned how to read them, the different types of "markers", how even destroying your fingerprints doesn't permanently stop them from growing back because of how deeply they go into your dermis (skin), and they learned how to take fingerprints off of a bunch of different surfaces, including using super glue fumes. She absolutely loved it. She also answered a couple questions in her Theology class, and got them right, and she was pleased by that because she rarely publicly answered questions in school before, because she didn't want to be wrong. Now she's branching out more and more willing to speak up. She had a great day today, and she's still loving the college experience. :)
