Cleansing

This morning I got the notification that I was selected for random drug and alcohol screening.  So was Nathan, so we both headed over to the same Med One clinic I went to on Sunday for my abdominal pain.  He went to check in first, and they were unhappy with the paperwork, as they couldn't find the "profile" in their system, and needed some billing thing.  So we waited.  And I called the guy who sent us there.  And he called the people in charge in Texas.  And we waited.  And then the lady from Texas called the clinic.  And they wanted her to fax them something.  And we waited.  And she faxed it over 15 minutes later.  And Nathan checked in.  And I waited.  I went up there and she said "I'm not ready for you yet, have a seat and I'll call you over."  And I waited.  And I checked in.  And we waited.  An hour later Nathan was called back.  He leaves, and I wait, and wait.  I go up to the desk as everyone who was in there after I came in was already seen, and said "I came in with the guy who left half hour ago to do the same thing he did.  I didn't get forgotten, did I?  You know this is a urine test and I've been here for 2 hours already, right?"  They said "Oh, everyone else is seeing the doctor and urgent care but we have your paperwork and it shouldn't be long."  I ended up not being called back until around 1:15 pm.  I walked out the door at 1:30.  I walked in at 10:30.  I had to blow into a breathalyzer, and pee in a cup, and it took them three hours to get that done for me.  Wasted my morning, didn't feel good anyway, missed out on lunch, and I was getting so angry by the end of it that my head was buzzing.  Part of my abdominal issue is that if I get very full or have to use the restroom, it hurts.  So they left me sitting there for 3 hours.  I'm still kind of mad.  That was ridiculous.

When I left there at 1:30, I hadn't eaten, so I stopped my McD's for a cheeseburger.  I decided to eat it in the parking lot and take a minute to relax.  A man walks up to my window and knocks on it, looking for money.   I came home, and our carpets are being cleaned.  That's a good thing.  :)  We moved most of the lightweight stuff off the carpet at our house and next door, and they came in with an industrial strength thing and went over all our carpeting, and added in a stain resistant finish.  The cats were Freaked Out, as we put them on the deck next door while our house was being done. Loud rumbling truck in the driveway with a giant hose going into the house.  The carpets look really good, they got up a lot of the spots and high traffic area grunge, and it smells fresh and almost like a car wash in here.  The cost for two houses was reasonable, and mostly it's nice to know the floors are quite thoroughly clean.  :)

Tomorrow I was supposed to go to Michigan for T-6 training for a guy.  Their taxiway and ramp is iced over, so he wanted to see if Friday would be better.  I'm good with waiting another day.  I do then have students here tomorrow, three of them.  It'll be my first day back to "work" since Saturday, so we'll see how it goes.
