Kaylee finally updated her blog. You have to hit refresh every night and hope for the best. It's been awhile! :p
We had a new cleaning crew come in today. We went with a company this time, instead of individuals. And like it or not, they did a better job than the individuals. They did a full hard core cleaning and charged a lot this first time, but they also worked for it because we hadn't had it deep cleaned in months, just spot cleaned. They got things cleaner than any, even the Amish ladies had. My stainless steel kitchen sink was shiny for the first time--usually I have to go in and wipe out the residue and water spots and shine it up myself after the cleaning people leave. These guys used a product that left it shiny and spotless as is. They did our window blinds and didn't break any, and did Ann's windows and she's happy about that too. It took them a long time. They started sometime after 8 am, and they didn't finish both houses until after 4:30 pm. So they charged a lot, but they worked hard for it too. And they asked me when I got back home if there was anything they missed, or that I was unhappy about. They even dusted under all our airplanes and knick knacks. And nothing was broken or left in random weird places. We were all pleased with their services and look forward to hiring them on a monthly basis now.
This afternoon I had my first official hair appointment. She trimmed and evened up my hair, gave me a few layers, and put in some highlights. It's very natural looking, and will just fade out in a couple of months, as opposed to roots growing out, or covering all the natural colors already in my hair too. It was kind of expensive, but I like it. My gray is still there, just less of it, and there's a little bit of my old 'red' back in there too, in the sun. It helped take a little of the "drab" away that has crept into my hair lately. But if you look at me, you can't really tell anything was done or that anything isn't natural. It looks basically like it used to, so not a noticeable change. It's nice to do that before it becomes too obvious, and I wasn't quite ready to go as full grey as it was going pretty quickly lately. I'll be okay with having silver hair sometime, I won't be 70 and dying my hair red, but not quite ready to hit the grey/silver yet. She did exactly what I asked for, and I like it. :)
Tomorrow's my last full day here for awhile, so I have plenty to do, including packing for Oshkosh as much as possible. Fortunately I pretty much have packing down to an art, and it doesn't take me long. The bad thing will be cluttering up our pretty, cleaned, decluttered house with all our Oshkosh stuff. The good thing will be coming home to a clean house.
One thing at a time. First I have to get to Tulsa and get a T-6 back. We're flying out Wednesday in John's Bonanza when weather allows, and coming home on Thursday in the Six. Weather is supposed to be rainy Thursday morning but not afternoon, so we'll have to see how that goes. What's funny is that I'm not very tense about flying the plane I don't know home in weather I'm not sure of yet. What I'm actually tense about is having to interact with a guy I don't know in all of it. Introvert problems.
I feel good about today. And Ann is feeling better too. Medication change for the win. :)
