Saturday

It's done, the final Spring concert.  You know they did a great job.  The Seniors were featured, and they did "You Raise Me Up" as their chosen song, obviously an awesome song.  And they also chose to do "We Go Together" from Grease, as it was the first song they did for a choir concert back in 7th grade, with Mrs. E.  They wanted to go out doing the same song they started out doing, a full-circle kind of thing.  There were several awards, but unfortunately Kaylee didn't win any, other than the "congrats on getting into Encore" and "congrats on being a Senior" award.  She was secretly hoping for one of three things.  A dancing award, a best "supporting actress" role for Minnie, and the Whitcome scholarship, which is a music scholarship through the school.  She was the most qualified person for it from a few standpoints, and the person who won it is going into like law or something, not music, so she was a little disappointed, to not have a solo and to not have folks vote for her to win anything.  But she's doing fine today.  She's sad that choir is over, that she'll never have a performance in the dress again, that the group that has been like family to her is all going its separate ways.  She's really going to miss them.  She's nervous and excited about the next step, Oregon.  I'm just nervous about getting past graduation and all the stuff we have to do before then, which is like 3 weeks away.  Heaven Help us.

Mom took some invitations home to send out to some of my side of the family, which I appreciated, and Ann has some from that side of the family, and Kaylee took care of her own, so I just have a few more to get together and get out and at least that will be accomplished.  :)

All four of the women around here woke up with stuffy heads to various degrees.  Ann, who woke up at 3 am with it, my Mom who woke up early with a bad one, me who just woke up feeling blah and with a stuffy head and runny eyes, and Kaylee who also woke up feeling blah and with a stuffy head.  Thank you Mother Nature for that one!  :p

Here are three videos and some photos from last night.  I am going to miss these programs, and I don't miss programs.  Kaylee says I can go watch her friend Caitlin, and I do like Caitlin, but it's Not The Same.  I might go see a play or a Christmas concert though.  Maybe.  *sniff*

It was Mom's birthday, and Mom & Ernie's Anniversary last week too, so I got a little double German chocolate cake to celebrate...

Got 'em all.  :)
