Schedules

The Kokomo Tribune sent a reporter to Hello Dolly, and they took 60 photos.  I don't know how long this link will stay valid, but you can see the photos, including lots of Kaylee, HERE.  She was also on the front page of the actual paper, bottom half, with her photo, name and everything.  So cool!  How many high schools in towns of fewer than 3,000 people get the next town over's reporter to come out to their musical and put them on the front page?  How neat is that?

I stayed busy today, on the phone making and rearranging appointments for myself and the cat, dealing with students, emails to send to coordinate CAF ground school in Wisconsin vs Minnesota vs Indiana and all the parts involved with that.  I had a flight this afternoon, and a meeting this evening, and along with other errands just kept hopping all day. I have some things to finish up tonight, but I'm more relaxed.

Kaylee got a 100% on a government quiz, and she said she didn't have to study for it, because the quiz was over legal stuff, and even if you didn't know what it was, the words used would give it away.  She thanked me again for giving her a broad vocabulary.  She was amazed that her friends didn't know what various words meant, words that seem normal to her.  Her friend Meredith made fun of her the other day for saying something was "cumbersome".  Kaylee said "What??  It's not heavy or too heavy to carry.  It's just...awkward.  You know, cumbersome!  It's the right word for that!" She thanked me for always using weird big words around her, and she also in passing said "Oh, I know I have an amazing, fantastic family."  She was bemoaning some of the things some of her friends' families put them through.  I'm grateful she is aware, not that we are awesome, but that she, and we, are very, very blessed.  I am grateful...regularly.

I have a student who said they can only fly on Sundays from now until May.  It's my one day off.  I compromised with them, I'll go every other week, but I'm not going for over two months without a single scheduled day off.  I need my Sundays to myself.  I offered for him to go with another instructor, but he wants me.  He came from Dustin, who told him not to go with anybody but me, so I guess I can't be bothered that someone wants to stick with me.  ;)
