It got up to double-digits today, which, along with the sunshine and lighter winds, truly felt like a heat wave. It was still 20 degrees below freezing, but by George it was still about 20 degrees warmer than it had been. Isn't that nuts?
Kaylee again didn't have school, third day in a row. She has a lot of e-learning stuff to catch up on too, so she better get to it! :)
Our new fridge got here today. It's quite a production. We now have the old fridge plugged in one place in the middle of our kitchen, and our new fridge not plugged in yet next to it, in the middle of the kitchen. I can't access the dishwasher, and getting to the coffee maker, medicine cabinet or sink is a journey of its own, but it's here. It looks huge next to our old fridge. It's taller and wider, as we knew ahead of time of course. We knew the height would be close, but it's about 1/2" too tall for the cabinet over it. So Steve took the cabinet down today, which required more effort than expected because of an electrical outlet he had in there. Tomorrow's project is to shave off about 3/4" off of the cabinet, then remount it. Then we'll plug the fridge in, hook up the water line (another trip to the crawl space for him), transfer stuff over, and push it back into place. Then we have to get all the protective film off of it and clean it up. Sunday our old fridge goes out to the hangar, if we have time. So, busy couple of days!
Tonight Kaylee is at Buffalo Wild Wings with friends, then going to a bowling alley for a rousing game. Then the group of them is supposed to do their e-learning for choir by all doing the dance on tape at the bowling alley, for fun. She's wearing my shoes. She decided my shoes went better with her outfit. I'm a little disturbed. ;)
I have a project I'm starting this weekend too. I'm going to get rid of a lot of books, mostly from my room. We have two huge bookshelves in there, and a lot of the books on there are no longer needed. Old college books, baby books, that kind of stuff. I kept Physics and Law and all that stuff, because I paid a fortune for those books, and I took the classes, and it was nostalgic, I guess. But I'll never use them again, I can't sell 20 year old college books, and if they were to be destroyed I wouldn't even sniffle. So why let them take up space in my room? And I definitely don't need "Crafts for Toddlers" and "How to Potty Train" type books any more. I don't think I ever used them in the first place. ;) So...a cleanse is coming. Funny thing is, I probably either won't be able to tell a difference even after clearing out of a bunch (I've given away over 200 books before), or I'll have big gaps on my shelves and they'll look weird. One of those two things, depending on how many of those I really can give away easily. I have a bunch of paperbacks in the guest bedroom closet, too, don't suppose I need those either, but I hate to get rid of what I'd call real books. Steve is excited at the idea.
