Home

Yesterday evening we spent the last evening eating leftover goodies and watching the night airshow from the campsite, burning off the last of our firewood.  It was a nice way to spend the last day at Oshkosh.  This morning was pack up day.  I got my stuff, but Steve and AE had the biggest jobs, getting everything put away in the trailer, packing up the big stuff plus all their own stuff too.

Nathan, the kids and I left when we got ready, and drove.  Nathan drove until the south side of Chicago, then I took it for the last two hours or so.  We laughed because when I first started driving, I had PIO bad (Pilot Induced Oscillations).  The car steering is super sensitive and you just barely touch the wheel or you wander back and forth.  We're also hauling his large trailer, so he got to do the tricky parts at the gas station and his house.  lol

Steve and AE dropped off Justin and Jessie at the airport, and the came after us.  They didn't get to Kokomo until about 7:30 pm.  By then I'd gotten to Nathan's, loaded up all my and some of our stuff into the Jeep, driven home, unloaded the car, unpacked all the bags, done 3 loads of laundry and a load of dishes, and drove out to Kokomo to go get him.  :)

Steve's home now--he still has his stuff to unpack, and our shoes, but I've got everything else caught up.  Right now we're just sitting in our living room comfortably, feet up, fed, and happy.  Almost happy.  Kaylee isn't home tonight, she had a sleep-over, so we still haven't seen her since she left for Puerto Rico.  But tomorrow she'd better get home and give me a hug.

Oshkosh this year did a fantastic job with their internet.  I never really had a time I couldn't connect, for once.  In the past, you were hosed unless you got up in the middle of the night.  Then it was early mornings and late evenings were okay.  This year, it worked all day long.  Whatever they brought in to boost up their capabilities, they nailed it this time.

I'm still grateful to be home with soft, thick toilet paper, and not having to choose between privacy or space in a shower.  I love going, and I am always glad to be home, too.  I'm ready to get back to work.  Except it's supposed to rain now.  Naturally.  ;)

It's good to be home.  I have some things to study (C-47 material) and some things to work on (for the WASP movie).  Looking forward to every last bit of it.  Pictures coming, not many, but a few, whenever I get them done.
