Guess who has started coughing and has a scratchy throat? Steve. Greeeat. He's even worse than I am when he gets sick. Here's hoping that this is as far as he gets down the sick path. He doesn't have time for this even less than I have time for this.
Weather has killed off all our weekend plans. Me flying the T-6 over to Purdue's Aviation Day is off, which I was partially looking forward to for a personal reason that I won't get into because it's petty, but it also killed off our Bonanza Formation clinic. I suppose that's all good news if it means another couple of days of rest for both of us, but I have to admit I was looking forward to what felt like a kick-off of the season. Oh well...
When we were in England, we spent time with two families the most, A and her dad, and B and her mom. Kaylee and A are friends. Kaylee and B used to be friends in Jr High, but then B started going down a path Kaylee wasn't interested in nor comfortable with. They drifted apart as friends, and now aren't in the same circles at all, never see each other at school, different classes, etc. But they remained friendly towards each other. This trip, we all spent time together. Well, B's mom asked Kaylee and A to come over this weekend for B's birthday. Kaylee said she'd go, and then A backed out, because A and B are not really friends either. Kaylee feels awkward going, because it feels like the mom is trying to force them to be friends again, but because she said she'd go, she's going to take her weekend and do it. Because she's a kind person who also doesn't want to back out on a person's birthday when only two people were invited and one said no. If the person doesn't have anyone else to have come over for a birthday but a former friend from Jr High...so I was glad that Kaylee didn't make me have to talk her into it or explain why she needed to. She said "I feel awkward doing this, we're not actually friends, and I'm not looking forward to this, but I'm going to do it because it's the right thing to do." Yes it is, and I'm proud of her for it.
We do have one thing on Sunday, regarding Kaylee. Stay tuned for more info. :)
