Atlanta

I couldn't sleep last night, finally fell asleep after 3-3:30 am sometime.   That was unfortunate as I had to be up at 7 am for the trip to Atlanta.  AE came with me since Steve was sick, and I stopped in Metro to pick up Steve F and Nick B, and we headed down to Falcon Field, Atlanta, Georgia.  We arrived at 10:40 am, right on time.  The plan was to be gone by 1 pm so they could get the Champ home today.   That didn't happen at all.  We were there until 4 pm.  I had a 6 pm student who had to cancel, and the Champ ended up having to stop in Bowling Green, KY for the night because it has no electrical system, no lights, so no night flying.

The plane is nice, and I look forward to flying it more.  I flew it once, from the grass strip it was at over to Falcon Field.  It was a gusty day today, high winds and a lot of turbulence.  On the way home in the Aerostar, AE and I hit turbulence so hard my head hit the roof and stuff floated down from somewhere.  Just chop, chop, chop, BOOM!

Good to be home, I hope to sleep much better tonight!

The four of us on the way down.

"Our" new Champ going for a test flight

The Champ taxiing out onto the grass strip, with a T-6 in front of the red building. Cool airport, rolling hills, beautiful surroundings!

Everything is grey and gloomy up here.  Louisville
