I had one thing on my schedule today, a flight at 4:30 pm. Then I got a text this morning that the Champ needs flown back to Westfield, and would I be available to get it there. Sure. The winds were gusting up to 26 knots when I left, and 29 when I got back to Kokomo. The winds at Westfield were a direct crosswind, but when I got down there, it wasn't as strong as I expected. A guy came and picked me up in a 172 and we went home. Then Steve texts that the RG needs to go to Muncie and we could do it this afternoon, which, if we did, I'd need to go chase it in the Aerostar. I have trouble with my seat, but the Aerostar needed its new avionics checked out anyway. So after a bit of hassle, I'm off for Muncie, pick up Justin and Dave, and get home. I do a few things at the airport, my 4:30 cancels because of the winds, and I head home and stop for gas. I'm about 2/3rds of the way home when Steve calls that he has a problem but will try to fix it. I pull in the driveway and he basically says I need to go back out to the airport and wait for a guy to land in a Cherokee, tie it down and then fly this guy to Indy International. The Aerostar's seat is messed up and I can't fix it myself, so I have Justin fill up the 340, and fly in my fourth plane of the afternoon. Get the guy to Indy, get home just before sunset. Nothing that I was supposed to do got done, everything I did do was unexpected and not on the list. I did like the flying though, it felt good. I like being able to fly in four different airplanes in one afternoon with a few different missions.
