Quickly

Kaylee got a much needed "B" on a math class, and had a 4 hour practice for their Christmas program tonight from 6-10 pm.  She's still working on homework and it's midnight.  These things are hard on kids--it's a good thing they are young.

I got a new fitbit as my last one died.  This one is a wrist one, which I'm trying to get used to.  It also tracks  your sleep, and each morning I can look at a report of how much time I spent awake, in light sleep, in REM sleep and in deep sleep.  No, I don't know how they do it other than it monitors heart rate and motion too.  You can set it to 'normal' or 'sensitive' for motion.  I have it "normal" at the moment.  It's interesting to see.  It also has a thin digital display so the date and time are on it like a clock, and then I can tap it to see my stats.   It also alerts me when I get a text, and it will scroll by on my wrist so I can read my text without pulling out my phone.  Yes, I know people have had these things forever.  No, I don't 'need' that function, but it is a gee-whiz interesting thing that came in handy at the Christmas party.  Somebody can text me and I can check it out easily, who it's from, if it's important, etc.  I got it on Black Friday, so I saved like 60% on it, otherwise I'd never have spent the money on it.  But I've started walking a bit more again, working on getting back in the groove again.

Today was really busy getting some stuff ready.  I was supposed to have two flights today, one in the T-6, and the winds were again gusting so high that it made for a not-worth-it experience.  The only bad thing about this is that the winds are supposed to be howling for the next three days, and then the temps drop, and winter hits.  We're talking 20s and snow.  So...not the best there.  He's close to being finished, and we may have just run out of time.  Ugh.

The good part about the flights being canceled was that it gave me the time I needed to get a lot of stuff done.  I hit two banks and the post office, the store, got the car washed, got the car topped off with gas, got Kaylee from school and back to practice and home from practice, through two drive-thrus, nope, three, and went to a school board meeting too.  Right now I'm listening to thunder (thunder!) while typing this up before heading to bed.  Oh, the other thing I got done today is talking to the doctor's office a couple of times, and convincing them through three different calls to prescribe me antibiotics over the phone without an office visit.  That's almost a miracle these days, especially since they don't know me over there yet.  But I explained the symptoms, had the low grade fever on my file as proof, and the cough, explained my symptoms, doc agreed with sinus infection likelihood and sent a Z-pack to the CVS for me to pick up.  I've had my first dose and am really hoping that tomorrow my head will start clearing out.  For tonight I can still feel the fever and the head stuff.  I'm almost excited at the thought of finally feeling good for the first time in about 3 weeks.  :)

Rain is pelting the windows, and lightning is flickering outside.  December 5th. So odd and oddly soothing.
