Prepping

Kaylee has just had marching band and school in the last few days, nothing new or exciting.  Got home from marching band at 9:40 pm and is just now starting her homework.  She's not happy about that.

I was out of clean clothes, and have been busy flying.  I had students until 10:30 pm last night, started at 9 am, and had another at 9 am this morning.  Last flight ended at about 6:30 pm, and then Steve and I went to dinner.  Got to pick up the kid at 9 pm.  Got home at 9:40.  In other words, we've been busy, running around, I haven't been home a lot, and I'm sort of tired.  I was busy all weekend with Steve gone and it hasn't slowed down yet!

Friday at the crack of dawn I drive down to Indy to get on an airline (help me) to Dallas, Texas, for the CAF WASP event down there.  My volunteer job is to be by their T-6 over the weekend, talk about the history of the plane, the WASP, etc. for visitors to the event.  I don't know if I have to wear that horrid flight suit the whole time (I would guess so) or if I get to wear the volunteer t-shirt (doubt it).  This is outside my comfort zone on multiple levels.  I've never done this kind of thing and I have to have my "people person" on for the whole weekend, dealing with a whole group of people I don't know.  I will know a couple people who are also going, but not in my direct line of work.  I am staying at one of the women's (whom I've never met) house, in a spare room, to save money on a hotel.  (help me)  So...Laura's favorite things, going to a function alone around a group of folks who all know each other already and going home with one for the rest of the evening.  It'll be fine.  It'll be fine.  Really, it'll be fine.  Hopefully even fun.  I might get to fly it while I'm there too, and that would be neat.  It'll be fine.
