This morning was a bit of a repeat of yesterday. I had four flights, left the house fairly early and didn't get home until after 10:30 pm. I did get a lunch break today though, unlike yesterday, so that's good. I had a morning cross country to Warsaw with someone, and a night flight to Smith Field (Fort Wayne) with someone tonight, and a couple of local lessons in the meantime. Kept busy, got it done, even got the bills mailed out and some correspondence returned and hooked a new guy and got him signed up for the club. Also went into Glenndale with three folks in the 172, taking off on Runway 36, to give someone some experience at that. It's a little unnerving to someone if they're not sure if they'll get off the runway or not, clear the wires or not, and it's not something I can give them a definitive answer on. The book numbers will tell you a lot...if you have the right technique...but not everything. Experience is key, by knowing how fast you're accelerating, how quickly you will climb loaded as you are, etc. Part science, part art. The science is easy to teach or learn. The art, not so much.
This was my quote for the day:
First, say to yourself what you would be, and then do what you have to do.

I'm digging that. I'll probably have to post that one. Good quote to end on...
