Steve has been down for the count. He hasn't left the house, or much off the couch, until this afternoon when he dragged himself to pick up Kaylee after school as I had all his students all afternoon. Then he crashed again. He's just this afternoon/evening starting to feel better, although he's coughing up a lung now. Such fun, these bugs are!
I've taken her to school the last two mornings, and actually she drove me, so that's good. I had a pause this morning, then from the time I hit lunch on, I didn't stop until 10:30 pm. I had students back to back, the next waiting on me after the previous one landed, from after lunch until 7:45 pm. Solid. Then I left the airport and picked Kaylee up at 8 from band, delivered her to the fairgrounds, got supper, ran home, ate, fed Steve, went back out and picked up Kaylee, and finally made it home at 10:30.
I had a lot to do when I did get home. A car to rent, an airline ticket to buy, a student's IACRA form to go over, a student to arrange a different flight with, a trip to plan for Friday, just a whole bunch of stuff. Tomorrow I had students from 10 am on, to a quick break after 5:30 and then a night flight until 11 pm, and I was supposed to leave Friday morning for a trip to IL in a Champ I have no way of getting on my own. Anyway. I need to figure out about maybe taking Gumby instead of the tailwheel even though it's a taildragger fly-in. It's so far away, the plane is not even here, I'd have to go under Chicago with no transponder, I'm not feeling it. I'm also missing Kaylee's homecoming parade, her first public singing performance with Encore, her sitting on her float and throwing candy, all that stuff. I'm not happy about it. :/
The TV segment came out today, and Ray sent me a link via Facebook. I think they did a good job with it, I think the interview went pretty well, they had lots of nice things to say, got some good flying scenes in, and they did really well with it. I wasn't even displeased with the interview part, and I don't like hearing myself talk. :) My only problem with the thing is not unexpected-- the footage they used from Marion in the flight suit. That's when I wish this had been done last year when I was smaller. I cringe every time I see myself cross the screen. Steve says it doesn't look bad. I strongly-fervently-disagree. But I love everything else about the segment, and I think they did a great job with it. Here's the Facebook link, I don't have a youtube clip or anything yet...
