Whew

I'm pretty sleepy, trying to get through a 10 pm show, so I'll just put it like this.

8-10 am I was in a Cirrus for the first time, doing instrument approaches with a new guy.  We landed, and 10-12 I was in the Cub finishing a guy's  tailwheel endorsement.  I ran home and from 12:30-1:30 I had a webinar with the CAF Rise Above WASP Squadron thingy.  Then I dozed off for a little while because I was so sleepy.  Still sleepy.  So from there it was drive out to Kokomo and fly a Bonanza to Aurora while the owner, who didn't feel well, sat right seat.  Got to Aurora and flew the 340 back to Kokomo.  Landed at 6, just in time to put it away and get in the 172 with a student until almost 8 pm.  Long day.  The only good weather day all week, so good to get stuff done, but long.

Biggest problem I had?  When I started to crawl into the Bonanza, I got 3/4 of the way in, and a black thick spider the size of a dime dropped down by my feet.  I squealed and jumped out of the plane.  John (owner) said "What that noise YOU??"  He crawled up there to get it...and couldn't find the little...bugger.  So I had to get in and fly to Illinois knowing there was a medium sized thick black spider hiding somewhere within inches of me.  I could not concentrate for awhile, kept looking, never did spot it, but YUCK.  I itched all over.

Kaylee had a dentist appointment today.  She hates this, so I didn't tell her until right before Steve came to get her.  She informed me that she'd had a bad day and didn't want to deal with the dentist and she'd run away or something if I made her go.  I told her the appointments were made 4-6 months in advance, so to pack her bags if she's running away, because she's going to the dentist.  Steve said it went okay, but she was still mad at me for setting up the appointment when I got home.  ;)  She has to get fluoride still, and hates that.  But she didn't have any cavities, and we've learned that if she doesn't go every 6 months or so, she's prone to getting cavities even though she brushes and flosses regularly. So, she has another 6 months to get annoyed for the next time.  ;)

The tailwheel guy this morning froze his butt off back there.  It was chilly this morning still.  But he finished it up and did well.  Could use a little more work on 3-point landings to smooth them out, but all in all not bad.  He sat in the T-6 and was thrilled.  Less thrilled by the Cheyenne.  More thrilled by the Cub than the Champ.  He is truly an old school tailwheel guy at heart.  Those are fun...

Cub Grin.
