Slightly Sunday

Kaylee has recovered.  She felt fine today, ate like a horse to make up for two days of not eating, even went to church tonight and did fine.  Whew.  And so far neither Steve nor I seem to have caught it.  Another whew.

Meanwhile, I did the whole "get your hair permed" thing.  I  hate the process, very much.  It hurts and it stinks and it looks ridiculous until it loosens up in a couple weeks.  The lady I had this time, I tipped her huge.  She's an older woman who used to work in a full service salon who now finds herself at Great Clips. While I was there, two different workers apologized to her for "having" to do my hair.  Nobody likes perms there.  She does like doing them, likes doing something besides quick cuts.  We talked quite a bit and we have a lot in common.  She's the only hair stylist person I've ever actually enjoyed talking to.  But now I've also learned that nobody else wants to do it and  most of them don't really know how.  Based on their own conversations, not my lady's.  She was more professional than that.  I kept her name just in case she's still there in the future.  It's not super professional of them to walk around talking about how sorry they are and how much they hate doing...your hair.  The last perm I got was 2015, so that's how long this one lasted.   The one harder thing was that my hair was pulled so hard that my scalp is really sore, still, hours later.   Mostly I'm just glad it's done and that I won't have to do it again for awhile.  I could never do it again, but I really hate flat head hair and I do like it once it relaxes.  :)

I need to come up with an article in the next couple days here for the WASP newsletter.  It's just so vague.  Either how I feel about flying the T-6, or flying the T-6 with my daughter.  An article was already done about that so I feel like I'm duplicating if I do that again, so I'm trying to do a different feel.  But whatever I start to write sounds like a bad short story instead of an article.  I've got writer's block.

It was a pretty day, blue skies, warm.  Usually I would have taken the Cub with Dustin or Steve or myself, but I was just a little too tired.  I might not have been sick, but I have been more tired than normal.  I came home and took a half nap for half an hour.  I did look a little sadly at the pretty day, but not enough to do something about it.  The winds were gusting to 25 too, which you want to be in the mood for anyway.

The gardens are looking beautiful--Ann is doing a lot of work out there and it looks great.  :)

Kaylee wanted pudding.  I had gotten some cook and serve pudding, so I made that tonight, and did "Pudding in a Cloud", which is a cool whip base in the bowl with warm chocolate pudding on top.  She texted me and said "This is really good!!"  I told her that's why Instant pudding doesn't do a thing for me.  It's like real hot chocolate.  Once you've had it, the fake stuff just isn't hardly worthy.  Thank you, childhood, for real hot chocolate, half baked gooey brownies, and warm pudding in a cloud.
