This morning Steve and Kaylee were up and out of the house by 6 am. I, only the other hand, slept in until 9. I had two flights scheduled for today. As I was sitting there reading before, lunch, my 2nd guy texted me and said he was in the ER with his father-in-law who had a kidney stone lodged in his liver duct? I'd never heard of that but it sounds terribly painful. So he was canceling, obviously. I still had one guy left. An hour later he texts me and says "I'm going to have to cancel today--I got bit on the elbow by a German Shepherd." Those are the two strangest reasons I've had for students cancelling, particularly in a row! A stone in the liver duct and a dog bite within an hour of each other. Wow. lol The only bad news is that I missed Kaylee's performance for two flights that didn't happen. The good news is, I got today off.
Kaylee and her group got a Gold at State for choir group, of course. I would be shocked if they ever got less. :) Kaylee had a little solo in there, which Steve said she did great on. He tried to email me a video clip but it was too large and he doesn't know how else to send it, but I'll see it again coming up in their program. (And I'll watch it on his phone anyway). Being Steve, he originally focused on the wrong girl for the first time Kaylee had her part, but he got her on the 2nd one anyway. ;)
It was good that I had today off, because suddenly tomorrow filled in. I had a discovery flight at 3 pm with a 9 year old girl. Because I had that on there, another guy emailed and asked if he could go too. Well, why not, I'm there anyway. Then a third guy texted and asked if I'd fly tomorrow. Well, why not, I had today off, right? So this weekend we swapped work/rest days.
