Saturday

It was nice to sleep in this morning a little.  :)

Several folks came out to the airport today to work on BOB, Nathan and Steve worked on the T-6 cowling, folks were cleaning up parts, and in general being productive.  Justin cooked up some delicious burgers for lunch and brats for dinner.  Kaylee slept in, and then I told her it was work time, and to start in on her driver's ed ground school.  She can only put in 3 hours a day towards it, so I told her she had to put in 3 hours a day.  She got her 3 hours in today, and then I brought her out to the airport and we did a flight lesson.

In the past, our flying has been more laid back.  Learning by osmosis, little bits here and there.  The last time and this time, I told her I was her instructor now, and she was a student, and we were getting down to business.  We just went back to basics again.  She's like many young students, especially female ones in my experience.  There's a saying that isn't popular because it's politically incorrect, but that doesn't stop it from being true in majority.  Obviously individuals are individuals and not pigeon holed, but the saying goes that many times a CFI has a hard time getting a male's skills to match his confidence level, and a female's confidence to match her skill level.  She has enough time flying around in the air to be good at it when she relaxes and just does it.  :)

Brats for dinner, home around 8...relax.

Lovely Ann with her birthday cookie  :)

Justin G took these of Kaylee and I in the 172.

You can see her using the checklist in there.

On take-off roll.
