Blown to Ohio

Bright and early this morning, I was headed to Canton/Akron, Ohio.  There was a line of storms that moved through early in the morning, and it had broken up into mostly wind and rain.  So we had some beautiful tailwinds on the way there, and some rain to dodge.  When we got there, we had to do an ILS approach in, and get vectored around some heavy rain on the outbound course.  The last 1000' of the approach was more interesting.  Low level wind shear, constant moderate turbulence, rain, gusty crosswind landing.

When I walked in, the lady behind the desk said "Oh, you're back!  Welcome back!"  I didn't even remember having been there until I walked inside, and I've been there once, a long time ago.  That girl has a GOOD memory.

Next order of business was breakfast.  Samantha's is a nice place just a couple miles away that has a whole host of everything from fancy breakfasts to bacon/eggs/toast.  I chose a lovely seafood omelet with dill cream cheese and asparagus and it was Awesome.   I didn't eat again the rest of the day until a bagel at 7 pm because I was so full from that thing.

Around 2 it was time to head home, with those winds now not really much in my favor.  So we hung out low and slow on the way home.  I topped off the 340, pulled out the Cheyenne and put gas in it for tomorrow, and came home to do laundry and such before picking up Kaylee from musical practice.

Tomorrow's forecast is calling for 25 knot winds early, then 35 knots mid-morning, then 50 knots that afternoon, then back down to 35 then 25 that evening.  Hopefully I don't come home until evening, 'cause it's calling for 280 degrees which is gonna make for a nice nasty crosswind.  I'll be in the Cheyenne, Dustin in the 340 if he decides to go.  He may wait for me to go along on Thursday instead.  We'll see how it goes...

The kids at school were all supposed to color pictures of Cinderella.  If you look at the wall, you see that there are hordes of blue-dress Cinderellas, because that's what she wore.  And then there are at least two kids who colored outside the norm.  A bright yellow dress and a hot pink dress.  You go, kids.  :)

Samantha's has all these phrases painted on the walls around the restaurant.  I like it.  :)
