Friday

Happy Friday, I guess!  Kaylee had Pep Band at a basketball game, and then went to a friend's house to spend the night.  Their plans for the night included having a "jam session" where they all bring the various instruments they play, plus they are practicing yodeling.  Yes, I said yodeling.  She's been listening to videos at home and practicing around the house, because it is one of the ways she can annoy me the most, and she revels in being able to annoy me.  This is also why, when she found out that Z92.5 has switched to all Christmas music now (NOVEMBER 18th!!!), she keeps switching to that channel knowing I hate it.  ;)

In fact, this was our conversation on the way home today, after she kept hitting the Christmas station and I kept kicking it off of there:

Kaylee:  "You are the biggest Grinch!"
Me:  "Yes.  It's NOVEMBER 18TH!!"
Kaylee: Texting on her phone rapidly.
Me:  "Are you texting your friends to complain about me?"
Kaylee:  "Yes."
Me:  "Okay then.  Make sure they know you're trying to force me to listen to bad Christmas music before Thanksgiving is even here."
Kaylee: "eyeroll"

Don't worry, she loves me.  ;)

It was 70 degrees today.  The wind was pumping, but it was 70 degrees.  By early afternoon, a line of clouds started rolling in, and by 5:30 a line of storms was aimed at us.  As I was driving Kaylee to her pep band engagement, the sky was both dark and lit with lightning.  My next stop was Kokomo Airport to pick up some things I'd left there.  By the time I got there, it was pouring rain.  Hard.  With heavy winds.  I pulled up, and Harkcom's truck was there, so I figured he was in the big hangar.  I jumped out, but the door was locked.  I stand in the pouring rain and get the key and finally get in, and I'm already very wet.  I get the food which included three plastic tubs and one small glass jar.  On the way out, the rain and wind hits, and of all the things to lose my grip on, it was the glass jar, which shattered on the concrete.  I get the rest of the stuff in the car, and then have to stand in the tsunami to pick up glass shards off the ground, because I can't leave it for someone to run over with a tire.  I am now S O A K E D.  I'm sticking my fingers in a mass of ranch dressing finding glass, which, yes, my fingers found several pieces all on their own causing some cuts and bleeding.  I'll live.  I somehow ended up with ranch dressing on the inside of my window, and I really don't know how.  I was drenched.  My socks were drenched, everything I was wearing was drenched.  It was a very hard downpour.  My clothes are still in the dryer now from that little "adventure".

So Kaylee's gone for the night and I don't have to get up in the morning.  Sweet.  ;)
