Traveling the Pattern

We all had long, busy days today too.  Kaylee had school and drama club and didn't get home until like 8:30 pm.  Steve ran around doing computer stuff all day, one fire after the other.  And I flew.  I was out at the airport before the sun was all the way up again and flew with a fellow working to get ready for solo cross countries.  Left lunch early and had someone's first full flight lesson, and did all the long basics.  Drove home, got home close to 4, laid down until 4:30, then went back to the airport and flew with a guy whose wife comes along and sits in the back seat.  Today was stalls day, and I warned her, but she wanted to go anyway.  She actually did fine, seemed less nervous than he was.  Landed with him and had another young man for night flying.  Come to find out, the runway lights aren't  working.  The taxi lights are, but not the runway lights.  There's no NOTAM for it, but apparently some workers accidentally clipped a line today.  There was enough ambient light...I did it anyway.  So we did almost all the night series of takeoffs and landings, but this time each one also included a no runway lights landing.  The taxiway lights being lit up meant you could see where the runway was anyway.   So that made for an interesting last flight of the day.  I'm a touch sadistic, I know this, and I'm okay with it.

I have watched the sun both rise and set from the air for several days in a row now.  I'm Tired.  Need a morning off.  :)
