Stuff

Kaylee got the notes back from their ISSMA contest.  A perfect score is 9, the worst score you can get and still get a gold is 13.5, and her group got a 10.3.  So that wasn't bad, and I heard two mistakes they made (I couldn't hear any mistakes in their recital).  Even better, the notes that commented on what they did wrong didn't mention alto sax once--and that was her.  So she didn't get any points taken off for them.  She also said that they were given a note that the time they took to tune up paid off, as they got a "1" or a "perfect" on tone.  They took several minutes to get tuned up and ready to play, where a lot of people rush that to get going on playing.  So, well done!  If they got that good of a score and made a couple errors, and I know they can play it without the errors as I've heard it, I'd think they would do well at State if they can play it clean.  We'll see.

The weather went downhill today, winds picking up, snow moving in, which killed off the afternoon flight.  Tomorrow isn't looking any better.
