Sunday

We got the news tonight that Kaylee is on a two-hour school delay for tomorrow.  YAY!  She's not the only one happy about that!  I also had a student in the Champ for tomorrow . Crosswind at 18 knots, ice, temp around 10 degrees F, I can't think of any good reason to go flying tomorrow morning, and neither could he.  I'm not even sure I'd be able to get and keep the Champ running in that kind of cold temp/wind.  She tends to keep dying when it's cold out, and since I'd be the one hand propping it over and over out there in the cold and wind...probably sub-zero wind chills...just no.

Today we spent the afternoon meeting one of Kaylee's school friends and her parents.  This young lady is going on a birthday trip with us to Florida the end of the month, and is flying on a plane with us and spending a weekend across the country with us, so we thought it only fair to meet her parents, have lunch, and show them the airplane, answer any questions, etc.  They are actually really nice people, very intelligent, and I enjoyed getting to know them a little better, even though it took all of Sunday.

The first real winter weather system has moved in.  The temps are in the teens, and we got rain that turned into ice, coating our roads with a thin sheet.  So unpleasant.  If the weather holds out, I'm supposed to head to Mississippi on Tuesday for an overnight.  Maybe it'll be warmer there.  It has to be warmer there.

Isn't that lovely?  Strong winds, icy ramp, hello winter in Kokomo.
