Important Things

Richard is still slowly getting better as they work on finding the right combination of medications to help keep his organs working properly, his body from retaining fluid, etc.  We're not certain of when he'll be able to leave the hospital, but hopefully soon.

Kaylee is still doing okay getting up early and going to band practice, somehow.  She also gives me a report each day when she gets off the bus on how she did in Starlets.  To say it's her favorite class would be a, well, DUH.  ;)  Today they got to try on their dresses, which they loved, and twirled around in, and felt like princesses, and took a group selfie in.   She told me they also got to sing their first "Happy Birthday" to a teacher at school there, their debut performance, and she had a blast and loved it.  The geometry homework she got done last night, the teacher assigned for Monday.  So she's already good to go there.  She has some extra credit homework to do for Spanish, but otherwise she has the weekend.  She's feeling pretty good about that!

I was supposed to go to St. Louis today, but that trip was rescheduled for early next week, so instead I tried to accomplish everything I could.  Paperwork, bills, filing, setting up an appointment for eye visit, organizing, cleaning, shopping, all the stuff I needed to get done on a day that I had actually OFF, accidentally.  Not exciting, but needed and productive.  I have more I need to do.  Logbook catch-up, desktop clean-up, typing up the minutes from the school board meeting before I forget what my notes mean, a certificate for currency training for someone...there's always plenty to do.

Kaylee has a swim party today from 4:30-9 pm tonight on a Friday evening with her group of girls that are good friends.  When she came out of her room, she was in a stylish dress cover-up over her swimsuit, lightly tanned, hair long, and she looked very sophisticated and mature and grown-up.  She's taken some extra steps lately to dress up a bit even when in t-shirts.  She is lovely.  It makes me smile and wistful for I don't know what at the same time. I enjoyed watching her bounce out of the vehicle, part lady, part kid, happy and innocent and on her way to hang out with friends without a care in the world.  Not to be melodramatic, but those days are limited the older you get, so I personally think each of them is worth much.  They mean more for me to see for my daughter than they even do for myself.

On that note I'm going to make myself some cheesy bread for dinner.  Nothing else, so as to not overeat, just cheesy bread.  Because I want some and I can, that's why.  ;)
