Kaylee's Day

We got up at 8 this morning, Kaylee's friend arrived at 9:20 a.m., and we were out the door and headed down to Indianapolis.  It was storming, raining cats and dogs, so it was a good day to be indoors most of the day, we thought.  We stopped at Denny's and had a huge breakfast, big enough that I wasn't even hardly hungry by the time we ate dinner at 7 pm.  But I had cinnamon cream cheese pancakes and it was taaaasty.  We went to the Castleton Mall next, and wondered how the girls could spend until 4 pm shopping, as we were going to watch a movie at 4.  They did it all right!  The mall is large, the stores in it are all large, and we sent them off with a phone to do their own shopping while Steve and I did our own thing.  We walked around the mall for awhile, went into a few of the stores, and then I spotted a kiosk in the middle of the aisle there that said they fixed iPod and iPad screens while you wait.  I had brought my poor shattered iPad in case we sat and read for awhile or something.   Sure enough, he did it, for $100, and it took him about an hour.  While he worked on that, we sat nearby and people watched and relaxed and messed on our phones.  He only had a white screen instead of my pretty black, and it was his last screen for an iPad 2.  While he was putting it on, he put a tiny crack in the corner himself.  You can't really see it, but he was one of the owners of the business so he wrote me a note with an unlimited warranty on it, said if I brought it back down he'd replace my screen again, with a black one, for free.  Even if it was a year or two from now (if the iPad 2 lasts another two years.  lol)  So that was a good enough reason to go down there right there.  My iPad is now fixed and lookin' good.  He did warn me that the pins in my charging...port...or whatever you call it, are bent and may break, and that if they do break there's nothing anybody can do about it, no way to charge it, etc.  In which case I'd have no more options on this unit.  But it's been that way for a long time and I'm hoping it'll hang in there awhile longer.

We ran into the girls a couple of times, and Kaylee ended up getting several shirts, a dress, and three pairs of jeans, so it was a successful mission, and she had fun with her friend.  At 4 we met back up and went to the movies.  The girls went to see "Insurgent", while Steve and I went to "Fast & Furious 7", because...fast cars and explosions and stuff.   We were all happy with our movies.

Eventually we went to TGIF for dinner, had some more really good food, drove home, dropped off the friend, and made it home around 10 pm.  Kaylee crawled right in bed when we got here--she didn't even say good night while we were changing clothes, she was just gone.  I hunted her down and she was in bed with her eye mask on and lights off.  I woke her up to say goodnight.  ;)  She said she had a really fun day, and I'm glad.  Steve and I had a pretty nice time too, actually.  We weren't shopping, we were people watching and walking around and sitting in the food court, and chatting.  I wouldn't have expected we could have left home at 9:30 a.m. and not get back until 10 p.m. after spending an entire day at a mall and actually all enjoyed ourselves, but so we did.
