Not so Super

The up-to-a-foot-of-snow we were supposed to get fizzled out after about an inch, at least at our house.  I can still see grass in the yard and concrete in front of the garage.  Most of what's out there is slush.  Lame.   It is supposed to freeze tonight though, and have high winds, which will leave the roads a mess in the morning.  The kids are already on a two-hour delay for tomorrow.  It's amazing to me how in this day and age they can't get better than this at weather forecasting.  Maybe it's a conspiracy with store owners.  The shelves get cleaned out every time there's a forecast like this, after all.  But 1"?  Please.

The Superbowl was actually an interesting game.  The last quarter sure kept you on your toes.  I didn't like either team, but I wanted anybody to beat the Patriots, which of course didn't happen, although it should have.  And then Seattle throws a temper tantrum after their coach calls a bad play and instead of using their known effective and almost unstoppable runner, has them throw a pass at the what, 1 yard line, for the game winning touchdown, which of course gets picked off, game over.  I understand the frustration and testosterone, but I really, really dislike bad sportsmanship--it's one of the reasons I can't stand the Patriots.  So while I'm still disgusted that Seattle lost the game at the end like that, all in all, what really needed to happen was for both teams to lose somehow.  ;)

At halftime at the game I was half fake singing one of the songs.  Kaylee says "Who sings this song?"  I said in a "Well, Duh" voice, "Katy Perry!"  She comes back deadpan with "Let's keep it that way, okay??"   Ouch!  I walked into that one...
