Good and Bad

Steve has been working all day on one problem after another.  He didn't even make it to lunch, and as of almost 10 pm here he hasn't made it home yet either. He's probably not having the greatest time, so Kaylee took care of the cat pee pad and litter boxes and I took care of the cats' food and water, and the trash, and other things in the house, so at least he won't have a bunch of normal chores to do whenever he does make it home.  At least most of it is billable, I think.  That never hurts.

Kaylee had a "DI" meeting after school until 5, I picked her up from there, grabbed some chicken, and took her to play practice, which she had until 9 pm.  She's now doing her homework, and she's perfectly cheerful and happy with her schedule like that.  That still amazes me.  I would be SO cranky going non-stop like that.  She's great.  We got her 4 year school plan in, on time.  She said she thinks she got something wrong on it, maybe not enough foreign language credits, but at least 9th grade is right, and we can adjust from there.  My baby's starting high school soon, is talking college credit courses.  Whew.

I find myself kind of excited here. There is a potential for something coming up here that may or may not come off, but I hope it works out the right way.  If it does, I will be really pleased.  So here's the deal.  In a couple of weeks, I may be able to fly down to Florida in a Twin Beech, get in quite a few hours of Twin Beech training time towards the 25 hours I need, and not have to buy the gas.  Once we do get to Florida, two of us would be taking up a couple of T-6s, and doing a weekend formation course for a FAST card.  The guy down there said with our previous experience he was confident he'd get us done quickly.  So here are the potential hang-ups: right now it's the same week Steve is supposed to be gone.  We have to make sure the FAST card examiner is available down there.  This is very weather dependent.  And last but not least, this may just be a two-ship card, and if it is, that may still limit me from doing more than 2-ship formations in waivered airspace.  So I have some clarifying I need to do, and there are several things that need to fall in place, but if it works out, how great would this be?
