Snooze

This was the first morning the kids got back to school on time, so we had a 6:15 a.m. wake-up call, which neither Steve, Kaylee nor I enjoyed.  Actually, I was up anyway so it wasn't so bad for me.  I woke up at 4:30 a.m. and never got back to sleep.  I looked up at the clock about every 30 minutes until it was 6 a.m., then I just got my phone out and started scrolling through emails and such until it was time to get up and get Kaylee pried out of bed.  That made it about 3 1/2 hours of sleep last night, which finally caught up to me this afternoon in between picking up Kaylee at her singing lesson in Greentown with a quartet at 4:15 pm and taking her back to Greentown for her personal singing lesson at 6:30 pm.  *Yawn*

I got Kaylee's birthday cake ordered today--she wanted lemon blueberry--and she asked if I could get a gluten-free cupcake for her friend K who can't have gluten or dairy.  They could make a whole other cake that way, or a dozen cupcakes, but nothing easy or small for one person.  But then they said they had gluten free chocolate that we could get, so we'll do that.  I think it's sweet that Kaylee is considerate enough of her friend to want to make sure there's something there for her too while everyone else is having cake.  They are going to go Cosmic Skating down in Westfield, black light skating with lasers and such.  Kaylee's looking forward to it, and now I'm just left hoping it all works out okay, enough kids can make it, that people actually RSVP so we know it's not just us going down there alone, all the things I don't enjoy about birthdays.  But she's excited, so hoping it's fun for everyone.  I think it will be.

Kaylee is also mad because she is required to take a year of Physical Education in school, and she does NOT want to.  Especially swimming.  She keeps saying she will drop out of school rather than do swimming.  No, she won't.  I don't really blame her, I hated PE too, but...ya gotta do what ya gotta do.  She did say there was a summer course you could take to meet the requirements, it's for a shorter time frame, and she thinks there would be fewer kids in it too then, so she's seeing about trying to get into that.  It's kind of humorous.

Beautiful day today.  Tomorrow is looking more questionable, but if I can I'll be out there flying.  Then of course Sunday is the Playoff game between the Colts and the Patriots.  That may be all I have to say about the upcoming weekend, so...see ya in a few.  :)
