My student passed his Private Pilot checkride, so that was a big fat "yay", and I had to wait 7 hours to find out how he did, which is just mean. He's another one who struggled a bit and had a fair amount of time before he was ready to go, so I'm really glad it's over for him today and that he got it. Relief!
This afternoon I flew for an hour in the Champ doing takeoffs and landings with someone, and then flew for 1.7 in the 172 out of Glenndale too. Seriously it was a gorgeous afternoon for it, and smooth as glass. The only problem was that Kaylee was supposed to have a tennis match starting at 5 p.m. fairly far away, and wouldn't be done until 7 pm or so, and then the match was canceled for no known reason at the very last minute and neither Steve nor I were free to go get her. Thankfully Richard could pick her up, but tennis is rough to work around, and they need to give some of us more than a 20 minute heads-up that we need to be at the bus stop instead of picking her up 3-4 hours from then as originally planned...
When I got home tonight, both cats escaped out the door. When I picked up Dulcie to bring her inside, she flipped out on me, starting screaming and clawing me with her back feet, and biting me. I held onto her long enough to get her on the deck, but in the meantime she tore into both my hands. I currently have four Band-Aids on and one cut on an area where a Band-Aid won't work. That hurt, and those dumb cat cuts always sting more than they should for longer than you'd think. It made me angry. I don't know why she freaked...Steve said he thinks there's been an animal outside and maybe she didn't know I was behind her and when I picked her up I took her by surprise or something. She acted all weird and funny towards Roadie for awhile too, staring angrily at her, etc. It was weird.
The BBQ Bash is coming up this weekend, and we're (mostly Steve)'s still working on getting it all together. Saturday's weather so far looks beautiful. Sunday not so much, but hopefully we'll at least get a good Saturday in...
