Summer

Today is the official Summer Solstice, and I guess the thunderstorms, high temps and high humidity has been  proving that out.  I just can't believe we basically have one month left, and then it's almost time to go back to school.  Good grief.

I took Kaylee and Maggie shopping today.  We left the house around 11:30 a.m., and got back around 4:30 p.m. or so.  Kaylee needed clothes that fit her and weren't ripped out, and needed some camp stuff too, so we got some jeans, some shorts, some shirts, and a few other necessities.  We went to a couple of different places including the mall and several stores therein, we took a break at KFC for lunch, and an ending break at Orange Leaf (frozen yogurt) afterwards.  The girls both bought a shirt they liked, matching, and Kaylee got most of what she needed not just for camp, but for summer.  Originally I was going to be formation flying today and Steve was going to take her shopping.  Both she and he are fortunate that the formation fell through and that it was me that did it.  ;)  We had a nice time, although that's a LONG time to be walking around shopping.  We were all tired by the end of that one, but everybody hung in there with a good attitude.  Thus the ice cream reward afterwards.

Kaylee was going to go down to Indy with me this evening so I could actually spend some time flying the PT from the back, since thus far both previous attempts were very short for various reasons.  The guy coming from Virginia said anytime Sunday, Monday or Tuesday, and I wanted to be more ready.  Last time he came up I hadn't hardly flown the plane at all, and now here he is coming back and I again haven't flown it hardly from the back.   But I had a low grade headache today, and after my nap attempt this afternoon from the shopping spree, some weather started wandering this way, and I just didn't feel like it.  Steve told me to quit messing with it, it's not like I can't fly the airplane, which is true.  So when Kaylee asked later when we were going down to fly, I said we weren't today, and she said "Oh.  I was kind of looking forward to that."  Whaaaaaaaaaaaaat?  Come to find out, she likes that airplane, likes the PT with the open canopy that is quieter and doesn't blow her headset off her head, motoring around slowly, looking out.  Well, cool.  I'll get her back in there then, and that's a great excuse to go fly whenever a convenient day arrives to do so.  :)
