Weekend

Saturday Steve and Nathan worked on the PT and the T6 and whatever else they worked on all day.  They got the T6 done other than putting the cowling back on, and originally they were going to cowl it up and fly it around and take pictures of themselves in it to send to me to taunt me while I was gone on a trip.  Unfortunately they ran out of steam and didn't get the cowl put back on it, but that would have been funny.  I told them I'd have posted it on Facebook with the caption "He is Risen" as a double joke, although some folks might be offended that part of my joke is a play on including Easter.  Nathan did run it up though, said it didn't want to start or stay running, which I suppose isn't too shocking after 7 months of sitting, but at least it's been fired up and warmed up a bit now and soon will be ready for him and me to take up again.

I had a flight down to Mobile, Alabama to pick up a group of guys for MBros and bring them home for Easter.  It was a beautiful day across the whole route, warm, clear skies, and light winds.   The airport is right on the water, with two very long runways, which was nice.  I like having lots of room when I'm taking off heavy.  It took them awhile to get me fueled up and get us on our way, but at last we were headed for Kokomo.  I was planning on stopping in Bowling Green, Kentucky for fuel, as I had reduced fuel on board in order to stay under an appropriate weight with the folks on board.  But the winds aloft were good enough and I was able to pull the power settings back enough to be able to make it non-stop with what I had with an hour reserve.  So that worked out.  It won't on the way back tomorrow, and that will make my day an hour longer, but...that's fine.

Kaylee went to Easter services with a friend both Saturday night and Sunday morning.  The friend invited her to a family luncheon too, but Kaylee wanted to come home and get her homework done (whoa), so that's what she did, while Steve cooked up some chicken, I made some veggies, and Ann made an apple pie.  It was a subdued Easter.  We didn't do baskets, or eggs, we didn't make a thing of it hardly at all, but she did talk about the reason behind the holiday and spend some time on that.  We did make Easter cupcakes with eggs in the middle and bright colored frosting on top.  Mostly we did that so we could eat the leftover batter.  After some discussion, we decided just drinking the batter and not making any cupcakes out of it would be inappropriate.  But it was a close call...
