Today was my day off, but I couldn't sleep in nearly as long as I intended to--just woke up. Bah. Steve had to work today, most of the day, until about 2 p.m. I worked on a few productive things throughout the day, and caught up on the TV shows I enjoy that I'd missed while I was off flying around this last week.
I learned today that Kaylee and the kids spent most of the day on the beach, and even with a mom harassing them about sunscreen, several of them got burnt. I would bet my savings account that Kaylee is one of them. Not because she'd refuse to apply sunscreen, but because she in part got my skin, and I don't care if you put sunscreen on or not, when you're in the water in Florida and you're a fair-skinned pale-faced kid, you burn. Been there, done that. A few times. Sunscreen and all. Tomorrow they have a boat all day. The photos look like she's enjoying herself, and I haven't heard from her yet, so I assume she's doing well. She's like me, she kind of goes off grid when she's gone, but off-grid usually means she's doing fine. :)
Steve and I ate the New England Clam Chowder I picked up, and it was a little runnier than I like, but the ingredients were all real, homemade, and there were lots of chunks of real clams in there. It was good, I liked it, I'd like it a little thicker, but I fixed that with crackers, and the rest of it I really enjoyed. Tomorrow I'll try the Manhattan style, which seems to have a tomato based cream sauce of some kind, and see what I think.
Tomorrow I bring the work family home, and the weather is worse than it was when I took them. It'll be IFR, and raining, with light ice and heavy winds. Fortunately it's a short flight home, and it's not Low IFR, just IFR (thus far), so hopefully it will go relatively smoothly for them/me.
Doesn't feel like we've had a Spring Break, or even just a day off, yet...at least Kaylee is. :)
