It was a beautiful flying day, and we took advantage of it. I think the whole state took advantage of it. I flew from 9:30-11:30 a.m., 2-4 and 4-6 p.m. with a break for lunch at Glenndale. One guy's third lesson, two checkride prep flights.
With one of my students, I want to load up the 172 to gross weight and have him fly it that way, get a feel for it. I need something or somebody in the back seat for a couple hundred pounds of ballast. There are some concrete blocks in the hangar, but I don't want to mess up the interior. Steve picked up Kaylee from school today and brought her out to the airport. She was willing to be 100 pounds worth of ballast, not eager, but willing, but I decided not to do that. She wouldn't enjoy that very much and I can come up with something else later. I did get a smile out of picturing her riding around going through a stall series, muttering things to herself after landings and such though.
So it was 50 degrees today. Light winds, blue skies, sunny, and warm. I didn't wear a coat. It was wonderful. It makes you almost feel human again.
