Scattered

Instruct, errands, be a Kaylee taxi, wash, rinse, repeat.  :)

Tonight was our EAA Chapter meeting, and I think we had a good time.  Burgers and dogs and chips, a nice video about Paul Poberezny, a little talk about Young Eagles stuff, and then we kind of hung out until way too late.  Before the meeting started I grabbed the Happy Champ and took it up for a spin as the sun was going down.  It's funny how even with as much flying as I do, I can still sometimes just feel the need to do something different.  It had been a long time since I'd been up in something like the Champ.  Of course a lot of times I'm riding, not flying, anyway.  And other times even when I am flying, it's often on long trips where I'm not really doing much flying as much as I am managing, scanning, monitoring, etc.  You take off, you set up for cruise, and then some hours later you land.  That's not really flying per say.  Sometimes you just need to fly.  So tonight that's what I did...

I'm going to be taxing my poor brain.  I've got two, probably three airplanes to check out in.  The Yak-52 is Saturday if the weather holds out.  He just sent me the POH info and some operational info, and some of it is pretty new to me.  I don't know much (let's just make it 'anything') about air systems.  It has a snot valve you use.  Don't know what that is either.  Nice name though.  So I need to look through and try to get a decent grasp of that and fairly quickly.  I've also contacted the guy in Virginia about getting back with me on the PT-26 checkout again.  There's a test to take there and a specific quiz thing over that plane, and then the flight part has a checklist of items to Commercial standards they want you do to.  At least it's an all-around simple airplane.  Anyway, lots to look over a bit and make sure I know the important parts.  :)

It's late, tomorrow we've got a group of kids out at Kokomo I guess, so I'd best get some sleep.
