Kaylee had a BLAST at King's Island. She and her friend rode every single ride there, some multiple times. It was late October, so there were no lines and they were able to get right on every ride, no waiting. They even did this crazy slingshot bungee ride where Kaylee had to release the cord herself and shoot them up like a, well, slingshot. They were there all day long, she actually got a light sunburn on her face, and she came home so wired up she couldn't stop talking. For a long time. Without any breaths in between sentences. When she did fall asleep, she was out hard, and she had trouble getting up this morning for school. Her friend did not make it to school today. We're apparently meaner. ;) She said the only ride she didn't like was one that was all in the pitch black, because it made her feel claustrophobic. I can't say anything there--I don't like that either. But I was really happy to hear what a wonderful last day of Fall Break she was able to have. You gotta live it up when you can, you know?
I was up at 5:30 a.m. again, off to Missouri, watched another sunrise behind me. Lately the sunrises and sunsets have been gorgeous on coloring, and this was no exception, but I've taken so many photos of them lately that I let this one pass unrecorded, just enjoyed it for myself. I was back home by 10:15 a.m. Not bad for a morning's work. Right after lunch I had another local flight for an hour, and then ran home for a minute before picking up Kaylee at the bus stop. The only problem was that I got distracted by something and ended up running late to pick up Kaylee. I sent her a text that I was on my way, and we went out for DQ as soon as I got there (I wasn't the last parent there, at least). We get back from DQ, and Steve had sent me and Kaylee an email with attached jpg files and a note saying basically "Uh-huh, here are photos of Mommy driving down the driveway, time stamp 3:29 p.m.!" The pictures are from our security cameras, and show that I was late leaving to pick her up from the bus stop. I told him that I wasn't sure this camera thing was necessarily all that great of an idea after all. ;)
