Sharon Tinkler quoted words her ill husband, Bill Tinkler, often said to her. She’d be at home doing the routine things people do, and Bill, who could no longer fly, would say “Sharon, fly now, fly now, it’s later than you think.” He passed away about a later. It was followed by this poem:
Life/Flying Balance
In a hangar at the airport, where a brooding pilot blinks,
Deeply graven is the message — It is later than you think.
The clock of life is wound but once, and no man has the power
To tell just when the hands will stop, at late or early hour.
Now is the time you own; the past’s a golden link.
Go flying now, my brother — It’s later than you think.
Deeply graven is the message — It is later than you think.
The clock of life is wound but once, and no man has the power
To tell just when the hands will stop, at late or early hour.
Now is the time you own; the past’s a golden link.
Go flying now, my brother — It’s later than you think.

Then she ended with this video that was sent to her the very next day. Listen to the words on the music-she said it was like somebody was trying to send her a message. I think Judy does a pretty good job taking advantage of flying things already. She's always buzzing around somewhere. :)
I don't know if I was born with it or if it was imparted upon me, but I always have often heard clocks ticking on various things in life. It can be a problem if you let it, because it's hard to fully enjoy something if you're trying too hard not to lose it. But it also helps you get through bad times, because you know that it won't always be. You never know what's around the corner, and most of the time it seems that what is around the corner is something you never expected. That's called hope, in my world anyway.
It's one of life's little ironies that this whole week has been drop dead gorgeous flying weather and I have had one flight, in the 172, all week. So what's going to happen is, next week when there are storms all over they're going to want me to fly all over the place again. Because we wouldn't want to take trips when it's beautiful out, no, we need to take trips when it's fog and ice and storms, dontyaknow! ;)
Kaylee news! First, tonight she had two tennis matches. She lost the first match, 4 games to 2. That also means, of course she won two games at least. And then she won her second match! Like I said, she's getting better, and she's having fun, and it's good exercise, and fun camaraderie, so what's not to like? Also, Kaylee's Junior High band had auditions to have "chairs". You know what that means, right? Well, today the band director announced who won what chairs, and for Alto Sax, Kaylee won First Chair! There are five 7th and 8th graders that play alto sax, so she took top "honors" there, and for this being her first year playing the Sax, that's pretty good! Way to go Kay!

Mom, this one's for you. Anybody else, if this doesn't make you saw "Awwwwwww", then go find yourself a heart somewhere. ;) Skip to about 25 seconds in if you want to get to the part where he finds the kitten. Yes, I am posting a kitten video.
I have a lot of thank yous to write for the BBQ Bash donation. I'm ahead of the game by getting everything deposited so early, so I need to keep that momentum going for the important part-letting people know how much I appreciate their help and donations. I should get to that now that I'm done looking at helpless kitten videos on YouTube...
