One point two on instrument flying this morning in 32L once the clouds burned off.
Kaylee and I went shopping today for school supplies. This is in a timely manner, considering school starts tomorrow morning. *sigh* But it worked out, and this was the first day I had to do it for awhile here. So we found a bag she can use (she's too cool for a back pack now), and some supplies to start with. They didn't have an actual supply list, just suggested pencils, pens, notebooks/paper, etc. for the first day and said the teachers will let the students know of anything else they need once they get going. Okee dokee. We also found a couple pairs of jeans that fit her comfortably that she liked the looks of too, which is usually a much bigger problem than it was today. We got fortunate and found a style and size that suited her right off the bat. We actually had a harder time finding a school bag than jeans, which for a tween girl is kind of amazing. ;) But, mission is accomplished and she's ready for tomorrow.
This evening she had a "test prep" class for Taekwondo (which I have recently learned is one word, not the three separate words I have been typing it as thus far), where she spent half an hour getting ready to test for her yellow belt on Saturday. I was listening in on that, and I actually enjoyed it. The instructor is obviously experienced and comfortable at sending students off for belts. He was calm and precise on his directions and instructions, he was sure to let her know what to expect and how it would be, he was encouraging and letting her basically know he wouldn't be sending her if she wasn't ready, etc. Listening to it, all I could hear was the prep stuff we do with students right before their checkride. It made me smile. It also made me comfortable, because I can tell he's quite comfortable and knowledgeable in his field. He's a good teacher, and I'm glad we found him and this quiet little place. :) Now we just have to figure out how to get Kaylee to Indianapolis Saturday morning after all...
Did I already post that I put up Oshkosh pictures? If not, I did, here. I still have another couple pages to add, but there's a start, anyway.
I'm busy until next week. Tomorrow I transport a few people to Hannibal, MO and pick up one there to bring home. Thursday I go to upper Wisconsin, almost by Minneapolis. Friday I go to St. Louis, then on down to Virginia, and back. Saturday is Warsaw's airshow and giving T-6 rides. Sunday may be a trip to Louisville in the Six to practice formation, or may be a day off. Monday I go back to Virginia. Thankfully most of my pressing students are finished up or are on other sections of flying right now and don't need me--otherwise I'd be in a little bit of trouble...
Guess I'd better get to sleep earlier than normal, since we all have to get up for school tomorrow morning again. :O
