I got some of my arms back last night while I slept. Now at least I can control them
Get it? Limp? To al dente? Just checking.
I seem to have a quiet week here, without trips or students either one, so I've been hitting other stuff that is usually hard to schedule ahead of time thanks to my unscheduled schedule. So Wednesday I get my eyes checked, Thursday I have a doc appointment, and Friday I get my flight medical done. So that's an expensive week...but at least all that unpleasantness will be over with by Friday afternoon.
Kaylee doesn't really ask for much as far as clothes, shoes, jewelry, that girly kind of stuff. As a result, she has the same pair of tennies I bought her for $5 at the Dollar General Store when she needed a pair for a cheerleading thing she was trying out last year. They're ragged and falling apart. So she mentioned this, and then politely pointed out a specific pair of shoes that she saw and liked, which she rarely does. And do you know I can find a picture of them on the internet, but I can't find them to buy for anything? There are a few pairs used on eBay, but none in her size. I think the store discontinued that exact shoe. I spent an hour looking for those stupid shoes. She hasn't had the best luck on a few things lately, and has handled most of it a lot more gracefully than some adults I know, and I sort of took on these shoes as a Mission. I even emailed the company asking about them. I'm That Mom. I can't do anything about a few other things, so I just want to get my kid the stinking pair of shoes she wants. Dumb, huh? Can't help it. ;)
Today Kaylee took a self-portrait in her room, and then edited it to black and white with her phone. The below is the result. It kind of makes me blink.
