We got our letters in the mail today from the police department that our applications for a handgun permit have been approved and forwarded to the state. I guess there's a several month wait for getting the actual permit in hand due to excessive back logs of applications. But at least I passed the local background check--they never found out about that...er, never mind. ;)
Kaylee and Steve have been working on homework and a science fair project tonight. The project is due, oh, Thursday. I was talking to another mom, and she said how much she hated these things because everybody knows it's a Parent Project, not a kid project. Well, yes and no. We have no choice but to help, but some parents do it all, and you can tell by the way the whole thing looks. Kaylee has to do her own project, but we have to help her figure out how to do a graph, or how to print up what she wants, etc. I learned that kids don't have to do science fair projects from 7th grade on and I was quite pleased. I already had to do science fair, and I don't remember getting help with it. Maybe I did, Mom would have to tell me, but it seems like it was me. Either way, I don't want to do any more now that it's almost 30 years later. Blech. I love science. Hate science fair. Basically it's projects in general I can't stand, come to think of it...
Kaylee's really tired tonight. She had trouble focusing on her project and homework, and after her shower she just went to bed, didn't even read. The busy weekend took her out, which I think is just fine now and then. Both she and her friend wore her "Wolf Lodge" shirts to school today. A good time was had by all.
I had a school board meeting tonight, and it was a long one. We had to go over and make amendments to the charter and by-laws, and as the new secretary I get to re-write the whole thing. It'll be easy, they said. Just do minutes, they said. Don't worry, I didn't expect it to be that easy in the first place. ;) It was almost a 3-hour meeting. It was also after this meeting that I learned that windmills are slated to be going up very close to Glenndale, this Spring, 500' high. So...we'll be looking into this.
Go to bed or work on my few weekend photos of the girls? Hmm.
