On one of the corners on our drive home from picking up Kaylee from the bus, there's a Little Caesar's pizza place, and they always have a guy or girl out there, sometimes dressed all in orange, sometimes just in their uniforms, sometimes dressed as Little Caesar himself, and they will dance, wiggle, throw signs in the air, and try to get your attention and make you think about eating there. Today Kaylee saw one and piped up with "Hey, that Little Seizure guy is on the corner again!" They do kind of look like they're having a seizure out there sometimes. ;)
I enjoy Facebook for keeping up with family and friends; it's great to see pictures and updates from people I enjoy that I might not get to see as often as I'd like. I also don't really "friend" someone unless I actually know them, or I know who they are and am interested in learning more; I have a lot of "flying" people like that. But every once in awhile you get someone who just drives you nuts. Either it's constant game requests (I've figured out how to block that at least), or it's Irritating Posts. I have one that is a mid-40s-year-old woman who acts like she's emotionally about 14. I can't hardly take it, and it's been a lot worse lately. People need to not use public Facebook to cryptically and dramatically air all their dirty laundry, particularly when they're a middle aged person who should be mature enough to know better. Gak. I've certainly had enough...I'd remove her if it wouldn't cause a meltdown of hurt feelings and despair. Anyway. I digress.
Great day of continuing to catch up on stuff I should have done a long time ago. I'd had some banking issues for awhile, was locked out of my online account, and a few other things, but taking care of it required going inside and talking with someone. Since I couldn't do it via email, website, or text, I pretty much just ignored it. So I finally got it taken care of today. It took me a good 40 minutes or so to get everything done, but all three banking things I had a problem with, I got taken care of. The pile on my side of the desk, the pile of Things I Need To Do Eventually, is down to nothing but a W-9 form to fill out and a Staples coupon that I need to use up before it expires. I am The Man. Well, The Woman. I have another giant project I need to tackle that I've let go for...years, but I've been working on this stuff a bite at a time, and now I'm down to mostly that. It's about to get busier around here again, so I'm glad I had these couple of quieter weeks to get some of this stuff done.
Starting Saturday I'll be starting a series of runs to Southeast Mississippi for work. The last time I went to Mississippi I ended up calling it "The Great Mississippi Debacle" and stranded for 3 days, after one of the worst flights I've had, with everything from battery and mag and plugged fuel injectors/maintenance issues, to two bad and converging lines of thunderstorms, and ice, and bad turbulence, and such strong headwinds I had to stop for an unplanned fuel stop, and a guy who threw up so many times, using up every sick sack in the plane, that he was practically comatose by the time we finally got to where we were going, and coming home had its own set of problems. Yeah, good times. ;) Here's a toast to Mississippi getting a second chance to not be synonymous with "ARGH!" in my memory. ;)
