Workin'

I was up early on this Saturday morning for a flight in the Champ out at Glenndale.  We are quickly coming up on the time of year that I dislike the most, when the taildraggers get tucked away for the season, and the grass strip flying is pretty much done.  But not yet. It was 36 degrees out, but she started up like a, well, champ, and we had a nice morning, a bit of a breeze, lots of sun.  When we took off, I saw a bunch of smoke, so we flew over to investigate, and found a house or building on fire.  The fire trucks were already there out front, but the roof was gone already and it was a burned out husk.  We finished up doing some takeoffs and landings, until it started getting a little too bumpy out.

I brought home breakfast after that for me and Steve, who is staying home working on his CFI renewal this weekend.  Every two years you get to spend a good solid day and a half taking quizzes and such.

Then it was time for me to drive down to Noblesville and pick up Kaylee from her fun two night stay-over with a friend.  She had lots of fun, and was also glad to be home.  When we got back to the house, we laid down on the couch together, and promptly both passed out for a couple of hours. Apparently we were both worn out.  My plan had been to go back out to the airport and go work on a couple things in the Six, once it got later in the afternoon and the winds had died back down.  But I slept until it was almost dark.  Well, I'm awake NOW!  Whoops...
