More Kid, Less Plane. ;)

There was a spider in my shower this morning, and not a real little one, either.  I got it down the drain because the drain grate thingy is out, but then you have another problem.  I have to stand with my back to the drain really close to it in order to wash my hair.  I couldn't stop turning around and staring at the drain at first, picturing that thing warrioring itself back up to come crawl up my leg and give me a heart attack.  It did, however, help me wake up.  ;)

Kaylee's school friend came over today.  They needed to practice a duet on their saxophones.  Kaylee plays the alto sax, her friend B plays the tenor sax.  They stayed up front honking away for awhile, and then decided they wanted to go outside to play.  They set their sheet music in the branches of the little trees, and played away for awhile.  I said "Can I record you?" and they both said "NO."  I tried anyway, but I didn't get a good shot of it, and if I did I couldn't post it because they didn't want me to.  But I thought it was worthwhile to have it anyway.  I did get a blurry photo, here, of her serenading the neighborhood.  ;)  They were so funny.  Kaylee's really trying, and B would hit a wrong note then just quit, and Kaylee would get irritated and say "if you goof up you HAVE to keep playing!  You can't just stop!  Otherwise you ruin it, and they think you don't know what you're doing.  Even if it's not perfect, just keep playing!"
Kaylee has been making it to school, but she's coughing a fair amount and her throat hurts, probably from the drainage and the coughing.  She's okay so far, just not feeling great.  Starting tomorrow after school, she is doing a cheerleading clinic this week, culminating in doing a cheer during the Friday night game.   Last but not least, she wrote something for a school project, a short story she called "Touching the Sky".  It was about a time she went up in the T-6 with me and we did a roll. She called it a loop, but close enough.  She did a really good job, and I took a picture of it so I could save it in her handwriting.  I may type it out later and add it...

Saw this on Facebook, the Land of Memes and Quotes, and it seems a little juvenile, but I liked it for the quote of the day, anyway.
