Greg Morehead took this photo after we finished flying Saturday, and I thought it turned out really nice. I joked that I enjoy being a thorn between two roses. :)
I flew an hour and a half in the blue Champ this morning, an hour in the white Champ after lunch, then an hour and a half in the 172 this evening before the rain moved in, all three learning landings. Teaching landings for a long period of time, particularly in the early phase in the tailwheels, is actually pretty fatiguing. But it's rewarding when it starts coming together for them, and one of the guys had it start to lock in today, which is great.
It was really hazy for the late afternoon flight, no horizon, and eventually it started sprinkling on us. One side of the hazy horizon disappeared more than the rest of it, so I had us land and put away the plane, and ended up driving home through mist and moderate rain about 5 miles south of the airport. A quick stop for dinner and another stop at Staples to fax off a letter and pick up some stuff, and I finally made it home around 7 p.m.
It's only 10 p.m. and I'm already ready to go to bed though! It's tough getting old... ;)
