Informingly

Winds and maintenance precluded any flying, so instead it was a "work on the weekend" day. What that entails is a long and boring set of facts that nobody wants to read. Unfortunately that leaves me with nothing to talk about. ;)

Well, one thing, I guess. Aviation events like this are a back-and-forth proposition. You don't just coordinate your own event with your own people and the weather and you're done, as much work as that is for everyone (mostly Steve) too. Stuff like airshows and this formation clinic are a notch up because you have to get a bunch of other people coming from many different places around the area to coordinate their lives and schedules and maintenance and airplanes along with your schedule and event, and then the weather. So I've had people say they'd try to come who now said they probably can't, I've had people who never answered me suddenly call in and say maybe, others who haven't said anything at all yet so you don't know if they're coming or not, you have to have enough qualified pilots to fly with the trainees, the weather was fine for the whole weekend and is now forecasting 60% chance of rain on Saturday, and in another two days hopefully that'll change to something else nicer again. You don't know what or who you've got, but you're planning food and space and hotels and transportation and people and coordinating airspace as best you can without really much if any concrete information. It's an adventure, eh? :)
